Job Summary
The Human Resource Assistant serves as the initial contact for employees, managers, and visitors to the human resource department.
Reports to: HR Manager/ HR Director
Job Specific Responsibilities Daily assignments may include but are not limited to: • Provide initial human resource assistance to employees and visitors upon arrival to the human resource offices. • Responds to variety of questions and/or inquiries as needed and directs employees and visitors appropriately • Answer, assist, take messages and/or route incoming calls to the HR department • Assist with HR department administration to include but not limited to coordinating events, ordering supplies, and/or scheduling and organizing conference room activities • Assist with basic employee verifications and completing authorized requests • Receives and distributes mail • Provides badges to employees as appropriate • Scans documents as needed • Assist HR Director in duties as assigned • All other related duties assigned
Education and Experience • High school diploma or GED • + 1 year clerical or office experience
Skills and Abilities • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written • Ability to operate general office equipment • Ability to maintain confidential information • Proficient user in Microsoft Office products
Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships Internal: The person in this role will interact with all levels of UMC staff External: Interacts with vendors, outside agencies and occasionally family members of employees
Physical Capabilities This role requires sitting at a desk for extended periods of time while working at a computer. Occasional walking, standing, stooping, and lifting of basic office supplies may require lifting greater than 10 pounds.
Environmental/Working Conditions This position is subject to inside environmental and varying temperature conditions.
