Overview

Test Manager III / (Penetration Tester SME / Senior Penetration Tester) - Protos IT (via Dice).

Location: IL, USA, 60605. Telework is not allowed. Work space: Airports. Duration: 3 months, possibility of extension. Schedule: 9/80 (Week 1 - 44 hours, Week 2 - 36 hours; overtime billed for 80+ hours in a 2-week period). Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40. Interview: Round 1 via MS Teams. Travel: No. Typical shift: 20:00 to 04:00.

Responsibilities

• Conduct penetration testing operations in accordance with industry best practices across applications, networks, and enterprise environments.
• Perform web application, network, and infrastructure testing using both commercial and open-source tools.
• Safely execute testing activities under defined operational guidance and document findings in detailed reports with actionable remediation recommendations.
• Collaborate with SOC, engineering, and defensive security teams to validate and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Contribute to tool development, methodology refinement, and knowledge-sharing across the team.
• Assigned role within the team at start and report on the function of the role.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related discipline with 15 years of professional experience, or Master’s degree with 13 years of professional experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in at least one of: incident detection and response, malware analysis, or cyber forensics.
• Experience with at least 3 of the following tools: Kali Linux, Metasploit, Burp Suite, Nmap, Cobalt Strike, Tenable Nessus, WebInspect, Scuba, AppDetective.
• Must hold one or more of the following certifications: GPEN, GWAPT, GISF, GXPN, OSCP, OSCE, OSWP, OSEE, CISSP, or CEH.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior IT security or audit experience and previous system administration experience.
• IT experience in a Computer Science discipline.
