Join our team at Viking Fence, a leading provider of lumber, building materials, and hardware solutions, dedicated to serving our customers with fast and friendly service. We're currently seeking a Delivery Driver with Piggyback lift to join our team at our Garland location.

Straight Truck Driver with piggyback lift is responsible for safely operating a straight truck equipped with a piggyback forklift to deliver goods in local area. They are also responsible for loading and unloading cargo using the piggyback forklift and may assist with other warehouse tasks.

Requirements

Key Duties & Responsibilities Safe Driving: Operate the straight truck safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. Loading and Unloading: Utilize the piggyback forklift to load and unload cargo at various locations. Cargo Handling: Secure and properly load cargo to prevent damage or accidents. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and any other relevant documentation. Vehicle Maintenance: Inspect the truck and forklift daily including pre and post trip inspection and report any maintenance issues. Communication: Communicate effectively with Manager and customers regarding delivery schedules and issues. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service during deliveries and interactions with customers. Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures related to truck operation, cargo handling, and forklift operation. Warehouse Assistance: May be required to assist with other warehouse duties, such as receiving shipments or organizing inventory. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Valid Class A or B CDL. Proficiency in operating straight trucks and piggyback forklifts. Knowledge of cargo securement and loading techniques. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical ability to perform tasks associated with loading and unloading. Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records. Forklift certification on a piggyback lift or ability to become certified upon hire. Ability to meet DOT CDL requirements. Work Environment & Physical Demands

Vision: Minimum visual acuity of 20/40 in each eye (with or without correction), and a horizontal field of vision of at least 70 degrees in each eye. Hearing: The ability to perceive a forced whisper at a distance of 5 feet or less, with or without a hearing aid, or pass a formal audiometer test. Other Physical Abilities: Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, lift and carry objects (up to 50 or even 75 pounds in some job descriptions), and maintain balance. Physical Requirements: Ability to use hands and arms to operate controls, stand for long periods, bend and twist the body, and make precise adjustments. Dexterity: Ability to use hands and fingers for tasks like handling and moving objects. Balance: Ability to maintain body balance while ascending/descending the forklift and during operation. Strength: Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects. Work performed in air conditioned truck cab as well as in outdoor elements including high temperatures, rain, humidity, and other naturally occurring weather events.
