As a Float Phlebotomist, you will have the opportunity to quickly gain a vast amount of experience by working with a variety of patients, team members, and clinics/locations. Your work schedule is an 8-hour shift, Monday – Friday between 7:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., with rotating Saturdays. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). Hours/location may change based on business needs and supervisor/management requests.
Float Incentive: Additional $2.00/hr plus mileage reimbursement. PSTs may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics. Work location includes Northern Indiana, covering South Bend, Mishawaka, Goshen, Angola and Elkhart.
Benefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20+ hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), PTO/FTO, Tuition Reimbursement, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Casual, PRN & Part Time employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours are eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan only.
Responsibilities
- Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
- Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
- Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
- Process billing information and collect payments when required
- Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
- Maintain patient and specimen information logs
- Provide superior customer service to all patients
- Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
- Travel to additional sites when needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency or previous experience as a phlebotomist is required
- Valid Driver's License and good driving record
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
- Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Able to pass a standardized color vision test
- 4+ years of phlebotomy experience in an outpatient lab setting is highly preferred
- Experience with pediatrics and geriatrics is highly preferred
