Position Overview
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, representing the organization with professionalism and empathy. This role involves collecting high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in all patient interactions. The PSR II provides clear explanations of procedures, maintains a safe and organized environment, and upholds established standards and protocols. This position may be based in a physician's office, patient service center, or other assigned locations depending on business needs.

Job Responsibilities
- Perform daily specimen collection and processing activities accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
- Collect forensic and clinical specimens following established procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Verify patient identification and ensure proper labeling of all specimens in the patient's presence.
- Maintain required documentation and accurate records.
- Promote a positive organizational image to patients, clients, and the public through professional conduct and communication.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors, process excellence, and commitment to patient confidentiality.
- Provide coverage at multiple locations as business needs dictate.
- Participate in training sessions, which may occur at varying locations based on trainer availability.
- Ability to produce accurate, high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, overtime, and rotational Saturdays as needed.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
- Ability to travel between multiple sites and provide coverage with minimal notice.
- Proficiency in multitasking and managing priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with a commitment to transparency and teamwork.
- Demonstrated ability to follow company policies, dress code, and health and safety procedures.
- Must exercise sound judgment and decision-making based on established procedures.
- Keyboarding and data entry experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
- Minimum three (3) years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections, required.
- At least two (2) years of experience in a patient service center environment preferred.
- Prior customer service experience in a retail or service setting preferred.
- COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this role.
- This is an on-site, day shift position (Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m. EST) with rotational Saturday coverage; flexibility required between 6:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
- Reliable personal transportation is required; public transportation, rideshare, or other indirect means are not considered reliable for this role.
- Candidates must reside within a 20-25 minute commute of the work location.
- Floaters are required to travel between multiple sites, arrive on time, and maintain a clean driving record; mileage reimbursement is provided.
- Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential; excessive tardiness or absenteeism may result in termination.
