Overview

The Lantern House is a 21-story building comprising approximately 180 one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom residences. Many offer uninterrupted cityscape and Hudson River views, providing residents a totally integrated lifestyle destination. Lantern House is part of a two-tower development that links underneath the High Line, in the heart of the art gallery district, near parks, restaurants, nightlife, and schools in Manhattan.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness of the lobby, hallways, elevators, common areas, and restrooms (mop, sweep, strip/wax/buff floors, dust, vacuum, garbage removal)
• Light maintenance may be assigned
• Provide excellent customer service to residents
• General upkeep of the buildings and grounds
• Snow removal and landscaping
• Maintain all equipment and supplies in proper condition
• Special projects as assigned
• Create a luxury environment, exceeding expectations in genuine hospitality service
• Approach all encounters with residents, guests, and colleagues in a gracious, attentive, courteous, and service-oriented manner
• Respect the privacy, information, perspectives, priorities, time, and resources of each resident
• Know the names of all residents and frequent guests
• Greet all residents and guests confidently and cordially upon entering the property
• Communicate resident concerns to property management and Related’s Corporate Office
• Monitor security systems and cameras, conduct inspections of the property for vandalism, damage, and safety, and report any misconduct, incidents, and damages
• Maintain regular attendance and highest standards of personal appearance and grooming, in compliance with Related’s standards
• Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing packages and deliveries
• Maintain accurate and complete shift notes and pass-on logs for shift changes
• Follow emergency procedures as directed in the property manual

Compensation

$29.7758 / hourly (Full Union Rate)

Schedule

• Tuesday - Friday: 10am - 6:30pm (Package Attendant)
• Saturday: 12pm - 8:30pm (Porter)
• Off Sunday and Monday

Qualifications

• A passion for excellent service and a composed, professional attitude
• 1-2 years prior janitor, cleaner, or porter experience; luxury properties is a plus
• Must be reliable and have experience working with cleaning chemicals
• Must be a team player and able to work with little supervision
• Excellent time management skills and work ethic
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for an 8-hour shift
• Light maintenance knowledge is a plus
