Overview
Our nonprofit organization is looking for a dedicated Receptionist. The receptionist is responsible for excellent customer service, greeting visitors, answering calls, and directing them accordingly. The ideal candidate has excellent communication and multitasking skills, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests and staff as soon as they arrive and connect them with the appropriate department.
- Answer the phone in a timely manner and direct calls to the correct staff/department.
- Announce arrivals to the staff using the paging system.
- Ensure all guests sign in and maintain the privacy of the guest logbook.
- Accept deliveries and regular mail and notify staff by email.
- Maintain a logbook for all deliveries (excluding food deliveries).
- Provide administrative support as needed and approved by the Office Manager.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the work desk and reception area.
- Stock coffee, office, and printer supplies.
- Liaise with vendors when applicable.
- Responsible for postage and preparing envelopes for staff mailings.
- Follow agency policies and procedures (e.g., arrive to work on time, maintain consistent attendance, follow the 2 weeks’ notice for vacation time).
- Attend and participate in weekly supervision.
- Participate in trainings/workshops to enhance professional and technical knowledge.
- Adhere to Housing Works guidelines as prescribed in the employee handbook and other policies and procedures manual.
