About the Role
- Meta is seeking a skilled Hardware Engineer for a temporary assignment supporting our innovative hardware projects.
- This role is designed for contingent workers and independent contractors, and is not a full-time employment opportunity.
- The Hardware Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and test hardware components for Meta's next-generation products.
- Design, develop, and validate hardware components and systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and manufacturing teams to ensure project milestones are met.
- Conduct troubleshooting, debugging, and root cause analysis of hardware issues.
- Prepare technical documentation and reports as required.
- Support prototype development and testing activities.
- Ensure compliance with Meta's quality and safety standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in hardware design and development.
- Proficiency with CAD tools and hardware simulation software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Basic optical metrology, basic data analysis skills, basic ability to assemble test jigs
- Good to have skills: Display driving skills
- Years of experience needed: 1-2
- Story Behind the Need - Business Group & Key Projects: Phoenix program ramping --> large sample characterization & demo to large team & failure analysis of NG samples

- Typical Day in the Role: Characterization, demo / user study to large team, lab management, test jig test-up & assembly
- How will performance be measured?: Ability to follow through with tasks independently with basic instructions, Keen to learn & grow, ask questions as needed
- Basic knowledge of display optical characterization & trouble shooting.
- Basic knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
- Previous experience with developing customized test stations.
Mandatory Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. Proven experience in hardware design and development.
