Bel Brands has headquarters in Chicago (Bel Brands USA) and New York City (GoGo Squeez) and operates multiple facilities. This role supports the Human Resources department with HRIS maintenance, hourly recruiting and onboarding, training, employee records, and administration of key HR processes including performance evaluations and recognition programs.

Responsibilities

  • Administer HR information systems (HRIS) to ensure data accuracy and timely updates.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and file all required documents.
  • Support HR initiatives by developing and updating documents such as job descriptions, organizational charts, and policies/human resources handbooks.
  • Respond to unemployment claims and employment verifications; escalate complex cases as needed.
  • Maintain HR dashboards and KPI reports; generate reports and metrics to support HR decision-making.
  • Support Talent Acquisition, Onboarding and Development for factory hourly positions; assist in full cycle recruiting (job postings, screening, interview scheduling, offers, background checks) and maintain recruiting records.
  • Plan and coordinate onboarding for new hourly hires (materials, scheduling presenters, uniforms, safety gear) and continuously seek to improve onboarding experience.
  • Track training progress for hourly employees and ensure program integrity; monitor employee experience with new hires.
  • Collaborate with factory departments to keep job qualification checklists current and complete on time.
  • Assist with hourly employee evaluations (30-60-90 day and annual) to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Serve as site expert for Alchemy, including developing and implementing training courses as needed.
  • Maintain onboarding and training records; be the main point of contact for Benefits, Workers’ Compensation, Payroll, and related administration.
  • Be the primary contact for benefits questions, changes, and enrollment; support open enrollment activities and communicate benefits changes.
  • Support case management for time-away-from-work programs (Attendance, FMLA, ADA, STD/LTD) and coordinate leaves with Third-Party Administrator.
  • Support case management for Workers’ Compensation claims in coordination with TPA, Safety, and Factory leadership.
  • Assist payroll processing by verifying time/attendance and addressing payroll inquiries; provide support to corporate payroll and site supervisors on time reporting and leave questions.
  • Support Employee Relations programs and respond to HR policy, procedure, and benefits inquiries; support employee engagement initiatives and surveys.
  • Ensure Compliance and Policy Adherence; stay updated on employment laws and regulations and assist with policy updates and implementation.
  • Maintain information flow in the HR department, including updating bulletin boards and records of communications.

Qualifications

  • Education and Experience
  • High school diploma with at least 3 years of administrative experience with HR or related emphasis required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred.
  • Skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish is preferred. Proficiency in HRIS and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; strong problem-solving and collaborative skills.
  • Experience with ADP, Alchemy, applicant tracking systems, and online learning platforms is a plus.

Physical Requirements

The role is primarily office-based with routine exposure to a plant environment; may require use of PPE. Typical schedule is 40 hours per week, with potential variation for special projects.

  • Occasional lifting of 10–20 pounds.
  • Some travel to other company locations may be required on a limited basis.
