The Human Resources Generalist aids with and facilitates human resource processes at all business locations, supports daily HR functions including hiring, interviewing, payroll and benefits administration, leave management, policy enforcement, and employee relations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the administration of health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes, and terminations, and coordinate documentation with payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate records and deductions.
- Recruit, interview, and hire qualified applicants; collaborate with managers to understand required skills and competencies.
- Execute HR programs related to compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, performance and talent management, safety, and training and development.
- Monitor Workers’ Compensation programs in compliance with applicable laws.
- Administer the FMLA process and other medical absence procedures.
- Administer the Drug and Alcohol Program per policy.
- Support payroll as needed.
- Perform clerical duties (filing, scanning, mailing) and prepare correspondence as requested (e.g., unemployment administration, labor relations, grant applications).
- Handle employment inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, and refer complex matters to appropriate staff.
- Provide dedicated HR advisory support on absence, health issues, conduct, grievances, organizational change, and other employee-relations matters.
- Attend and participate in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and best practices; review policies to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Stay informed about HR trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management, and employment law.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field, and/or equivalent experience.
- Two years of related experience preferred.
- Prior experience in labor relations preferred.
- Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
- Must have and maintain an active driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicles.
Physical Requirements
Position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise, occasional climbing of stairs, walking over uneven terrain, and reaching in multiple directions. Must have adequate listening, hearing, and visual acuity. May work in areas not environmentally controlled. Ability to move/lift/pull/push up to 50 lbs.
