Overview

Everyone knows security needs to be “baked in” to a system architecture, but you know how to bake it in. You can identify and implement ways to harden systems and reduce their attack surface. You will lead the design and development of secure systems for the U.S. Air Force as a Cybersecurity Lead and help deliver solutions that withstand advanced cyber threats.

As a Cybersecurity Team Lead, you will interpret technical and mission requirements, lead the delivery of cybersecurity solutions to government networks, coordinate with government officials, cyber professionals, and technical domain experts, and translate IT needs and goals into secure, effective plans. You’ll advise on new techniques, move beyond legacy models, and guide the team through network design, providing alternatives that balance security with mission requirements.

This role offers an opportunity to lead a team and contribute to the security of mission-critical systems by integrating secure practices across enterprise environments and leveraging modern cybersecurity tools and practices.

Responsibilities

• Interpret requirements and lead delivery of cybersecurity solutions for enterprise government networks. • Coordinate with government officials, cyber professionals, and domain experts to select tools and techniques that meet IT needs and security goals. • Advise on new techniques and modern approaches to network design. • Guide the team through secure design choices and balance security with mission needs. • Oversee efforts to integrate secure practices across enterprise systems and broaden skillsets in cybersecurity tools and practices. • Identify opportunities to apply cybersecurity solutions to client challenges.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with enterprise environments, including on-prem, hybrid, and cloud-based systems
  • 4+ years of experience leading enterprise architecture and designing security solution integrations, including SIEM and SOC solutions
  • 3+ years of experience in cloud computing environments such as AWS or Azure
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams in the integration of cyber capabilities in a geographically separated enterprise environment
  • Experience organizing, leading, and executing delivery, including assisting project managers and leading technical communications with executives
  • Ability to configure, deploy, and implement Elastic on AWS or on-premises in an enterprise environment
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with enterprise cloud, including IL4, IL-5, and IL-6, and traditional classified networks, including SIPRNet and JWICs
  • Experience scripting with Python or Bash
  • Experience with REST APIs, SQL, NoSQL, and Regular Expressions
  • Experience with NIST Special Publications relating to RMF, incident response, forensics, and system engineering
  • Experience working with Terraform, AWS, CI/CD, and IaC
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Elastic Certifications
  • DoD 8570 IAT-II or III Certification such as Security+, CySA+, or GSEC Certification

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $120,000 - $200,000 per year (range may be adjusted based on location, experience, skills, certifications, and business needs).
