Overview
The Talent Department of Arnold & Porter has an opening for an Attorney Recruiting Coordinator in the New York office. The ideal candidate is creative and team-oriented with a focus on client service.
Pay
Base pay range: $65,000.00/yr - $75,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
- Summer Program: Assist the Attorney Recruiting Manager in planning the summer associate program in New York, including planning events, coordinating summer associate arrival and departure dates, and assisting with assignment evaluation collection as needed. Facilitate the end-of-summer exit processes.
- Law Student Recruiting: Partner with career services personnel and faculty to raise the firm’s profile on campus; schedule career development meetings; interact with the network of former Arnold & Porter summer associates. Work with the attorney recruiting team and National Hiring Committee representatives to implement an overall recruiting strategy. Provide support for the callback interview process, including scheduling, greeting, and maintaining communication with candidates. Coordinate the on-campus interview process (registering, scheduling, preparing interview materials, and submitting interview feedback forms to interviewing schools). Plan offer dinners and receptions and offer visits. Coordinate campus outreach events, including on-campus events designed to market the firm. Prepare and maintain reports and statistics.
- Lateral, Entry-Level, Staff Attorney & Judicial Clerk Hiring: Assist the attorney recruiting team to hire and integrate judicial clerks, entry-level and lateral associates, and staff attorneys. Support the lateral associate interview process (identifying and presenting candidates, scheduling interviews, and collecting post-interview evaluations). Post open positions on the firm’s external website and other job boards. Maintain applicant files in the firm’s applicant tracking system. Support the pre-employment process (including offer approval, offer letters, reference checks, etc.). Act as a liaison for new employees with other firm departments. Prepare and maintain reports and statistics.
Qualifications
- Four-year college degree or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of two (2) years of prior attorney recruiting experience in a law firm, professional services, or corporate environment.
- Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite or related software; knowledge of the viDesktop platform is a plus.
- Knowledge of recruitment principles and concepts in a professional services or law firm environment.
- Understanding of current regulations associated with a lawful recruiting process.
- Ability to work efficiently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment while paying attention to detail.
- Demonstrate a high degree of trustworthiness in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to demonstrate strategic focus and exceptional judgement and professionalism.
- Ability to define goals and follow through to achieve results.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Possess reliability, dependability, and motivation; excellent organization and communications skills, both oral and written; exceptional client service both internal and external.
- Flexibility to work additional hours as needed.
Compensation Details
The anticipated base salary for this position is $65,000 to $75,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on factors including qualifications, experience, education, licenses, and location.
