Join to apply for the Custodian I role at Columbus State University. The Custodian I serves as part of a team of 3-4 custodial staff and will be based on Columbus State University's RiverPark campus. The team operates in accordance with APPA standards for custodial services.

Base pay

$27,836.00/yr - $29,816.00/yr

Responsibilities

• Performs and ensures cleaning requests are completed properly and in accordance with APPA standards.
• Assists in completing workloads for assigned buildings.
• Responds to custodial emergencies as needed.
• Serve as a brand ambassador of University Operations and Columbus State University.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or one to three years of related supervisory experience and/or training.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Ability to frequently stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, taste, smell.
• Considerable knowledge of proper custodial services practices, techniques, and procedures.
• Considerable knowledge of the operations and use of equipment, tools, and supplies used in custodial maintenance.
• Ability to occasionally lift 30-50 pounds.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
