ICU RN Job Details – Austin, TX

• Location: Austin, TX 78704 – South Austin, close to dining, entertainment, and scenic parks
• Position: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Locum Tenens)
• Facility: State-of-the-art 20-bed Intensive Care Unit
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (September 22, 2025 – December 22, 2025)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per schedule (Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
• On-Site Position
• No On-Call Required
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,570 - $1,610 per week

ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas or compact state (required for Texas nursing jobs)
• Minimum 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, rhythm interpretation, and titratable drips
• Strong knowledge of hemodynamics and critical care protocols
• Experience with respiratory care: ventilators, Bipap, tracheostomy care, Airvo
• Preferred: Experience with CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) and SLED
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Navy scrubs required

ICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality critical care to ICU patients with complex medical needs
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; manage titratable drips and hemodynamic support
• Provide advanced respiratory support, including ventilator management, Bipap, trach care, and Airvo
• Assist with procedures: central line and chest tube insertion, bronchoscopies, tracheostomies, lumbar punctures, intubation
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Document all care and interventions accurately in Meditech EMR
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for patients and staff
