Job Summary
The Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor at Emerald Care Center Claremore is a crucial member of our skilled nursing team, responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents. This role encompasses both housekeeping duties and laundry services, ensuring that all areas of the facility meet high standards of cleanliness and hygiene while managing residents\' laundry needs efficiently.

This position operates in a clinical healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting floors, surfaces, and common areas.
- Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, and communal spaces, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are used properly and stored safely.
- Report any maintenance or repair needs to the facility maintenance team.
- Assist with setting up and maintaining an organized storage area for cleaning supplies.
- Collect, sort, and wash resident clothing, linens, and facility laundry in accordance with prescribed procedures.
- Dry, fold, and distribute laundry items to the appropriate areas or residents.
- Maintain laundry equipment and report any malfunctions or issues to the supervisor.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of clean laundry to avoid contamination.
- Assist residents with personal laundry needs as required.
- Adhere to safety and sanitation regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.
- Provide courteous and respectful service to residents, family members, and staff.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to care planning as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operation of the facility.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in housekeeping or laundry services, especially in a healthcare or skilled nursing facility, is an advantage.
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards working with elderly or disabled individuals.
- Physical ability to perform cleaning and laundry tasks, including lifting and moving items.
