Responsibilities

  • Handle guest check-ins and checkouts efficiently and in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Organize shift and review remaining reservations to arrive; verify that updated contingency reports have been run.
  • Verify GTD no-shows, complete the walked guest report, and place a copy in the immediate supervisor’s box.
  • Ensure credit card draft capture is in balance.
  • File credit cards, keys and completed reports.
  • Complete express checkout envelopes and have Night Housekeeping / Security Aide deliver to guestrooms.
  • Assist guests with general services such as check cashing, making change, and answering questions about hotel services, shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.
  • Ensure Property Management System is backed up nightly on designated tape and stored in the safe.
  • Ensure wake-up calls are handled promptly and properly.
  • Complete a “person in charge” security report identifying unusual events and place on the General Manager’s desk for review.
  • Receive and transmit mail, phone, and written messages for guests.
  • Post room charges, food & beverage charges, phone charges, compute guest bills, collect payment and make change following cash handling procedures.
  • Balance accounts to zero and reconcile restaurant credit card accounts; attach calculator tape and inform management of discrepancies.
  • Complete daily revenue report accurately and input daily summary records and same-day selling strategy report.
  • Prepare AM Housekeeping Status Report and Newly Vacated Rooms report for Housekeeping.
  • Report to AM associate at the end of shift with any unusual conditions or occurrences.
  • Monitor graveyard Night Housekeeping / Security Aide to ensure duties are completed.
  • Represent the hotel in guest complaint situations requiring immediate attention.
  • Other duties, projects, and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must have prior Front Desk Experience.
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma; some college preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Strong command of English (read, write, and speak fluently).
  • Solid computer skills including core Microsoft applications and brand-specific applications as needed.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Ability to lead, train, and motivate team members.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent relationship-building, guest-centric, well-organized approach.
  • Reliable transportation.
