Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Courier.
Position Status: Part Time (32 hours / week) - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 12 pm - close
Position Location: Sentara Home Care Services - Chesapeake, VA
Overview
Performs as a transporter for various items such as deposits, medications, equipment, supplies, x-ray films, lab specimens, letters, marketing materials and packages. Proficient at performing 25% of all daily routes with the flexibility to work all three shifts in any geographic area when required. Required to operate vehicle safely, keeps vehicle clean and well maintained; maintain vehicle safety logs and submit requests for vehicle maintenance/repairs in a timely manner.
In this position, the courier will primarily be delivering medication to patient's residence, and occasionally hospitals, doctors offices, etc.
Education
Highschool Graduate or Equivalent
Certification/Licensure
Valid VA Driver's License
Experience
Previous experience with professional driving/transportation (in health care industry preferred)
Clean driving record
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Must be able to sit/drive for up to 90% of the time
