Overview

Field Service Technician position at Easy Street JD&S in Carol Stream, IL. Easy Street JD&S is a family-owned business providing high-quality material handling equipment for sale and rental, and parts for material handling equipment. We are a leading provider of Combilift and Noblelift trucks with service support for various makes of lift trucks.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair Combilift and all other makes of lift trucks (diesel, electric, and LPG).
• Disassemble, troubleshoot, repair, reassemble and test various types of electrical systems.
• Perform all assigned planned maintenance on customer lift trucks.
• Maintain service van and its inventory.
• Process paperwork after completion of each job.
• Test mechanical equipment after repair to guarantee proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specs.
• Keep shop work area, equipment, and service van clean.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and hydraulics and internal combustion engines; ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Strong written/verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to safely operate lift trucks.
• 5-10+ years of mechanical background strongly desired.
• Own tools required; necessary specialized tools are provided.
• Experience working on air hoists, manual hoists, and electric hoists.
• Prior forklift experience.
