Qualifications and Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
• Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
• New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. To learn more about E-Verify, including your rights and responsibilities, visit e-verify.gov
• Within the DoD, the appointment of retired military members within 180 days following retirement is subject to 5 U.S.C. 3326.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
• Must successfully complete/pass required CNIC directed Navy Security Forces Training Course, as well as recurring training requirements.
• This is a Mission Essential position requiring continuity of operations and completion of tasks essential to the mission as designated by local or command decisions.
• Travel to CONUS and OCONUS or remote/isolated sites may be required; must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods.
• Must obtain and maintain a government travel card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required; failure to report or the test may rescind tentative offers; random testing may apply.
• This is a bargaining unit position.
• Must obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
• Must successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• Position may involve firearms qualifications as required; sign DD-Form-2760 where applicable and maintain firearm proficiency if required.
• Must obtain and maintain interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
• Resumes are limited; provide sufficient detail to demonstrate experience and qualifications for the appropriate GS level (GS-03 to GS-06) as described in the job posting.
• Experience includes handling access control, traffic regulation for security, and conducting inspections consistent with facility security procedures.
