Job Summary

The Electrician is responsible for performing electrical work in control cabinets and panel boards, wiring/rewiring of electrical cabinets and components, running conduit, writing programs and installing in PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).

Essential Duties / Responsibilities

• Install electrical hardware or software and perform electrical wiring of selected devices in accordance with state and local codes.
• Perform electrical start-ups of new, used or modified equipment and generate new or modify existing operating instructions related to electrical items.
• Aid and assist in layout design of construction and troubleshooting of electrical components.
• Calibrate electrical components as needed. Program and install PLCs and draw ladder logic diagrams to match specifications.
• Maintain a clean work area for all wires, conduit, raceways, etc.
• Manage company issued tools (e.g., benders, punches, labeler, drills) and store them when not in use.
• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2-3 years of ladder logic and programming of PLCs.
• Prior electrical background required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Journeyman's license preferred.
• Good working knowledge of PLCs and programming.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Excellent work ethic and positive attitude.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

The physical demands and work environment factors describe the requirements to successfully perform the main duties of this job. Working conditions include exposure to high noise levels, strong odors, heat and cold; potential exposure to biohazards and to electrical hazards. The role may require travel to offsite locations. Vision demands include distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Weight handling may involve lifting up to 100 pounds in some tasks.
