Position Description:

Working on Advanced & Production Exterior projects, the successful candidate will develop both conceptual and production exterior solutions in the form of sketches, renderings, and 3D digital models.

  • Develop and execute recruiting strategies to attract candidates for advanced exterior design projects.
  • Partner with Engineering, Product Design, and Suppliers to understand staffing needs and translate them into effective recruitment plans.
  • Screen, interview, and assess candidates for technical design, CAD, and exterior design capabilities.
  • Coordinate candidate communications and manage the interview process to deliver a positive candidate experience.

Qualifications

Skills Required: Adobe Photoshop, Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Product Design, Tool design automotive/transportation design. Photoshop, 3D development including clay development (full-size clay experience) and CAD (Alias/Blender/Maya).

  • Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree (in Industrial Design, Transportation Design, or equivalent).
  • Automotive or Transportation Design experience, including final design product execution and internships with transportation design companies.
  • Ability to interpret customer needs and global trends into compelling design.
  • Ability to work independently and provide strong technical aesthetic judgment to lead team members.
  • Demonstrated creative exterior/interior design perceptions and the ability to communicate through sketches and renderings. A design portfolio (pdf) must be provided upon application.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Suppliers and other partners to progress design development.
  • Strong design intuition, problem-solving skills, and the ability to visually communicate ideas.
  • Ability to translate 2D concepts to 3D with a strong sense of form and proportion.
  • Familiarity with design trends across automotive, fashion, architectural, and related fields.
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and leadership skills; ability to think creatively, strategically, and analytically.
  • Create compelling exterior design experiences and visions for design projects; coordinate work of other design personnel to achieve holistic design visions.
  • Span digital and physical thinking (software and hardware) and address topics of connectivity, mobility, and consumer segments.
