Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service and help customers find products, answer questions, and respond to inquiries about products sold within the department and store.
- Maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions, making suggestions as appropriate.
- Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company/store goals.
- Prepare beverage selections to recipe and standards and to customer requests using proper equipment; tender transactions following company best practices.
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items; inform customers of coffee shop specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products that meet ordered sizes and portion standards to minimize shrink.
- Recommend coffee shop items to ensure customers get products they want.
- Use kitchen equipment (refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens) according to guidelines; prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients.
- Check product quality to ensure freshness; review sell-by dates and take appropriate action.
- Operate equipment such as espresso machines, blenders, scales and steamers; label and inventory department merchandise.
- Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
- Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
- Support safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions; notify management of safety risks and incidents.
- Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting needs for repair.
- Notify management of customer or employee accidents and report safety risks, theft, or fraud as required.
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
- Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Qualifications
- MINIMUM: Excellent customer service skills.

- Any previous comparable experience.
