Overview
Data Scientist, Data and Machine Learning, WWPS US Federal role at Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role supports the US Intelligence Community by designing, building, and implementing AI algorithms, including advanced Generative AI solutions, to augment decision making with reliability, transparency, and scalability. The AWS US Federal Professional Services team works with US Intelligence Community agencies and other public sector entities to achieve mission goals through the adoption of Machine Learning (ML) and Generative AI (GenAI). We build models and ML Operations pipelines for text, image, video, audio, and multi-modal data, leveraging traditional ML approaches and state-of-the-art generative models including Large Language Models (LLMs). We collaborate across the AWS organization to deliver the right solution and drive feature innovation based on customer needs.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with AI/ML Scientists and Architects to research, design, develop, and evaluate AI algorithms to address real world challenges.
Participate in the design and construction of Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) pipelines and architectures.
Interact with customers directly to understand the business problem, help implement AI solutions, deliver briefings and deep-dive sessions, and guide adoption patterns and paths to production.
Create and deliver best practice recommendations, tutorials, blog posts, sample code, and presentations for technical, business, and executive stakeholders.
Provide customer and market feedback to Product and Engineering teams to help define product direction.
This position may require up to 25% local travel.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience migrating and transforming legacy SIGINT/Cyber capabilities through data science and ML approaches; building models within SIGINT/Cyber operational constraints.
Professional experience applying data science within Intelligence Community production chains.
Experience with algorithms, data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing, neural deep learning methods and/or machine learning.
Current, active US government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters or PhD in computer science, engineering, mathematics, operations research, or a highly quantitative field.
Experience using Python and building models with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, MXNet).
Experience building applications leveraging GenAI.
