Chief Data & Analytics Officer (CDAO)

Location: Remote (Preference for New York) Type: Full-Time Reports to: CEO & President About Astera Holdings

Astera Holdings is a quantitative finance firm on a mission to redefine prediction markets—an emerging category of financial markets where people trade on the outcomes of real-world events. Our three pillars form the Astera Flywheel: each generates proprietary data that feeds our central Astera Intelligence Engine, compounding our edge over time. Our culture is a

Meritocracy of Minds , built on Radical Intellectual Honesty, a Scientific Approach to Everything, and Lean Intensity. The Opportunity

This is a career-defining opportunity for a world-class data executive to build and own the entire data and analytics function of a new kind of financial institution. As the Chief Data & Analytics Officer, you are the ultimate owner of the firm’s most critical asset: its data. You will be the strategic architect of the Astera Flywheel, responsible for the end-to-end vision and execution of our data platform, analytics capabilities, and governance framework. This is not a traditional CDAO role. You will be a key member of the executive team, tasked with transforming raw data from across our diverse business lines into strategic intelligence, proprietary insights, and ultimately, alpha. You will lead the charge in building a world-class data organization that serves as the central nervous system for Astera Capital, BetSmart (Atlas), and Astera Analytics. What You’ll Do

Set the Enterprise Data Vision:

Define and execute a cohesive, forward-looking data and analytics strategy that unifies our three verticals and maximizes the power of the Astera Flywheel. Champion a data-first culture from the top down. Own the Astera Intelligence Engine:

Take ultimate ownership of the data platform, overseeing the data engineering and infrastructure teams. Drive the architectural vision for our “Event Data Cloud,” ensuring it is scalable, low-latency, secure, and reliable. Lead Strategic Analytics & Insights:

Build and lead a multi-disciplinary analytics function that goes beyond reporting. Your team will be responsible for generating actionable insights that directly impact P&L: driving alpha for

Astera Capital , informing product strategy and user growth for

Atlas , and creating novel data products for

Astera Analytics

clients. Establish Ironclad Data Governance:

Design and implement a robust, enterprise-wide data governance framework. Be relentlessly focused on data quality, integrity, lineage, and security, ensuring our data is an immaculate and defensible asset. Build a World-Class Team:

Recruit, lead, and mentor a high-performance organization of data engineers, analysts, and data scientists, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous innovation. Serve as a Strategic Business Partner:

Act as a key advisor to the CEO and the executive leadership team, using data to inform the most critical strategic decisions facing the company. What We’re Looking For

Proven Executive Leadership:

15 years of experience in data and analytics, with a proven track record in a senior leadership role (e.g., CDAO, VP of Data) at a top-tier quantitative finance firm or a data-intensive, high-growth technology company. Deep Technical & Architectural Acumen:

You are a technologist at your core. You possess the deep technical expertise to command the respect of principal-level engineers and guide the architecture of complex, large-scale data systems. You are fluent in modern cloud and data stacks (streaming, batch, lakehouse). Strategic & Commercial Mindset:

You are a business leader first. You have a history of translating data capabilities directly into commercial outcomes, whether it’s generating alpha, driving revenue, or creating new product lines. Quantitative Fluency:

You thrive in a quantitative environment. You are deeply comfortable with financial data, statistical concepts, and the language of risk and probability. Transformational Leader:

You have experience building data organizations from the ground up or have led significant, successful data transformations. You know how to build not just platforms, but high-performing teams and data-driven cultures. To Apply
