General Counsel
to serve as the chief legal advisor to the company, overseeing all legal matters related to real estate development, acquisitions, financing, leasing, construction, and corporate governance. Location: Rockford, IL. Salary: $200,000.00-$230,000.00. Responsibilities
Provide legal guidance on all aspects of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and development agreements. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including purchase and sale agreements, leases, construction contracts, and financing documents. Advise executive leadership on legal risks, compliance, and regulatory issues. Manage outside counsel relationships and legal budgets. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, including zoning, land use, environmental regulations, and fair housing laws. Oversee corporate governance, entity formation, and maintenance. Support litigation strategy and manage disputes, claims, and settlements. Develop and implement internal policies and training to mitigate legal risk. Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; active license to practice law in the applicable state. 10+ years of legal experience, with a strong background in real estate law. Seniority level
