Overview
Senior Director, Provider AI Strategy and Transformation – Remote. The Senior Director will define and lead the Provider Operations AI transformation agenda, establishing the framework, governance, and operating model required to scale AI-driven products and capabilities. This role is accountable for building the foundational strategy, aligning AI initiatives with business objectives. They will design and implement a measurable transformation roadmap, including portfolio prioritization, data readiness, platform enablement, and product innovation. They will lead cross-functional teams, foster a culture of experimentation and governance, and deliver tangible business outcomes such as cost optimization and enhanced provider experiences. Success will be measured by speed to market, adoption, scalability, and ROI of AI initiatives. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. Base pay range
$156,400.00/yr - $268,000.00/yr Primary Responsibilities
Define the Provider Operations AI transformation framework including establishing the working model and codifying the governance process. Build and lead a high-performing team of AI experts, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to foster a culture of innovation and delivering business value. Accountable for the overall governance, performance and results of Provider Operations. Play a key role in establishing credibility and visibility of a new and growing hybrid AI team. Prepare and present information for a diverse and executive-level audience, ensuring clear and effective communication of transformational AI projects and outcomes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify AI opportunities across various business units and develop customized solutions to improve quality, streamline workflows and drive efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Ensure that transformational AI projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, while meeting quality and performance standards. Stay abreast of AI research advancements and industry best practices to keep AI initiatives at the forefront of innovation and compliance; contribute to proofs-of-concept tests for new processes and technologies. Establish partnerships with external AI vendors, research institutions, and startups to leverage external expertise and accelerate transformation. Drive innovation by evaluating emerging AI technologies, their potential impact on the business, and recommending strategic investments. Required Qualifications
10+ years of progressive experience in product management, strategy or technology leadership roles within healthcare. 2+ years leading AI/ML-driven product strategies. Experience leading and managing a multi-discipline team in a complex organization. Experience influencing cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Data Science, Design) and managing organizations across multiple geographies. Proven track record of owning AI product transformation strategies—from vision and roadmap to execution and measurable business impact within a large, complex healthcare organization. Exceptional executive communication skills with experience influencing C-suite, IT, Legal, vendors and external stakeholders. Ability to drive innovation at enterprise scale, balancing experimentation with operational rigor and compliance. Ability to develop and articulate a clear vision for how AI can be utilized to achieve business goals. Preferred Qualifications
Solid knowledge of Responsible AI practices, bias mitigation, and compliance with global AI regulations. Deep understanding of AI/ML technologies, including LLM architectures, RAG, prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, and MLOps practices for scalable deployment. Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, container orchestration (Kubernetes), and GPU/accelerator optimization for AI workloads. Proven track record of building and scaling new AI teams or organizations from the ground up, including hiring, operating model design, and culture creation. Proven track record of driving measurable business outcomes through AI innovation (e.g., revenue growth, cost reduction, customer experience improvements). Proven industry thought leadership: publications, patents, conference speaking, or open-source contributions in AI/ML. Experience partnering with hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, GCP) and negotiating strategic vendor relationships.
