Overview
The Director/Vice President of Asset Management will lead the long-term performance strategy for a growing fleet of commercial solar and storage systems. This executive-level role will oversee asset operations, financial performance, vendor relationships, and reporting for a portfolio of behind-the-meter (BTM) and select front-of-the-meter (FTM) projects. The VP will build and manage a high-performing team, implement scalable processes, and act as the main point of accountability for post-COD success. Key Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of asset performance, including budget oversight, revenue forecasting, and operational reporting Design and execute scalable systems for vendor management, O&M performance, and software integration Negotiate contracts with third-party operators, monitoring providers, and platform vendors Track and report on asset-level financials, ensuring projects meet or exceed expected returns Collaborate with finance, engineering, and development teams to ensure lifecycle alignment and long-term value creation Develop tools and processes to manage a growing portfolio without proportionally increasing headcount Serve as a senior liaison to offtakers and investors with best-in-class reporting and client service Maintain full compliance with PPAs, tax equity structures, regulatory obligations, and incentive programs Stay current on industry benchmarks, regulatory developments, and technology innovations Travel (~25%) to meet with vendors, partners, and site personnel What You Bring
10+ years of experience in asset management for renewable energy or distributed infrastructure projects Proven success leading cross-functional teams across engineering, finance, and operations Deep technical understanding of solar PV, BESS, and distributed grid technologies (EV charging, microgrids, etc.) Expertise in managing asset-level financials: budgeting, forecasting, revenue tracking, and compliance Experience negotiating and overseeing O&M, monitoring, and asset management software contracts Familiarity with tax equity structures, regulatory reporting, and revenue recovery processes Strong client-facing communication skills, especially with real estate or infrastructure stakeholders A track record of implementing operational improvements through tools, automation, or process innovation Ability to lead in a hybrid work environment with regular in-state or regional presence Seniority level
