Our client is seeking a transformative Head of Engineering to lead and scale their engineering teams as they accelerate adoption across major health systems, payers, and provider networks. This is an extremely mission-critical role for someone who’s equal parts builder and technology leader — ready to execute the vision laid out by the leadership and product teams, get hands-on to expand and secure their scalable Agentic AI platform, grow a high-performing team, and ship enterprise-ready AI products that reshape how healthcare works. Working with the CTO office, you’ll set the technical vision, lead cross-functional execution, and ensure delivery with speed, quality, and resilience. Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Strategy Define and evolve the platform and product roadmap aligned with business priorities and customer expectations Guide architectural decisions across ML pipelines, APIs, and enterprise integrations Collaborate closely with leaders to execute on the product vision Partner with Product and sales/go-to-market leaders to align platform investments with business outcomes Own infrastructure scalability (Kubernetes on various clouds), data security, and compliance (HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC2) in collaboration with the CISO Team Building & Execution Own and evolve a high-leverage engineering org structure that scales across geographies and product lines Oversee best-in-class processes across CI/CD, code quality, information security, and observability to realize AgentOps lifecycle Establish a regular product release cadence Identify and grow technical leaders, create pathways for autonomy, and remove process friction Partner with customer solutions and forward deployment teams to accelerate delivery without sacrificing quality and stability Build for resiliency and scalability, reducing toil through automation and improving long-term system health Represent Engineering with strategic customers, demonstrating deep platform knowledge and inspiring confidence Translate customer infrastructure needs into scalable, configurable product capabilities Ensure the platform supports high-volume clinical workflows, interoperability, and analytics through capability development and testing Align GTM, Product, and Customer Ops teams to ensure delivery excellence and rapid iteration on feedback Must-Have Qualifications 10+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ in leadership roles building enterprise Data and AI systems Experience building and leading teams for healthcare payers and/or large provider systems in a fast-paced setting such as startups Deep understanding of enterprise healthcare infrastructure, ML/data pipelines, and APIs (HL7, FHIR, EHR integrations), and application integrations such as QNXT, Pega, Salesforce Proven track record of delivering secure, compliant, production-grade software in health tech Technical Knowledge & Deep Expertise Prior experience in AI/ML infrastructure or knowledge automation using Agentic AI and Generative AI technologies Working knowledge of Generative AI patterns (RAG, GraphRAG) and prompt engineering best practices Familiarity with Kubernetes, Keda, Kafka, Agentic AI frameworks (LangGraph, Langchain, LlamaIndex), and modern database technologies Ability to navigate enterprise security audits and automate DevSecOps processes Expertise in setting up scalable Kubernetes configurations with best practices for autoscaling Efficiency & Streamlined Processes Monitor and optimize infrastructure spend with real-time cost dashboards Reduce costs through instance type evaluation, GPU optimization, and execution pattern improvements Enable faster platform installation using IaC (Helm, Terraform) and automation for one-click deployments Streamline environment lifecycle management across internal and customer systems Establish quality gates from development to production using tools such as Pylint, Pytest, SonarCube, and Snyk Culture Fit Own it end-to-end: Take full responsibility, drive outcomes, and ship with excellence Move with purpose: Prioritize speed, clarity, and impact over perfection Elevate the team: Mentor others, simplify complexity, and build trust through action Think bold, act bold: Challenge assumptions, raise the bar, and take smart risks What Our Client Offers Opportunity to make a real impact on the future of healthcare Autonomy, ownership, and growth potential Competitive compensation and benefits 100% employer-paid health, vision, and dental insurance Retirement plans (401k for US employees), disability insurance, and employee assistance programs Seniority level
