Dean, School of Arts and Sciences, College of St. Scholastica. The College seeks an experienced, accomplished, and dynamic leader to serve as dean of the School of Arts and Sciences. The dean will support a community of faculty dedicated to teaching, scholarly and creative work, and service. The School spans humanities, natural and social sciences, fine arts, and global and interdisciplinary studies, with the Veritas Program in General Education at its center. The dean reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and is a member of the College’s Academic Council along with other school deans and leaders. Key Responsibilities

Deep appreciation and respect for the Catholic intellectual tradition, Catholic social teaching, and the College’s Benedictine identity and values, guiding inclusive excellence. Provide strategic leadership, planning, and vision to advance the mission of the School and College. Advocate for the value of a liberal education among internal and external constituencies; foster strong campus and community partnerships. Recruit, retain, evaluate, and mentor faculty; guide tenure and promotion; support teaching, scholarship, and professional development. Collaborate with faculty, department chairs, and program directors to achieve strategic priorities and initiate new programs. Lead program design, curriculum development, assessment and accreditation processes, and cross-department collaboration. Collaborate with Enrollment Management on recruitment and retention strategies for students. Develop partnerships with community and industry to support experiential learning and career opportunities for students. Oversee budget, fiscal, and resource management; pursue grant-writing and fundraising; partner with College Advancement for external relations and donor engagement. Qualifications

Earned terminal degree. Strong record of teaching, scholarship and/or creative activity, and service meriting appointment as associate or (preferably) full professor. Administrative experience with increasing responsibility (minimum of five years). Demonstrated ability to meet the key responsibilities of the role. College Profile

The College of St. Scholastica was founded as a Catholic institution in 1912 and is now a co-educational, comprehensive institution offering undergraduate and graduate programs under Benedictine sponsorship. The College emphasizes Catholic Benedictine heritage, inclusivity, and a mission-driven education. It serves about 3,000 students from 49 states (plus DC and Puerto Rico) and 35 countries, with 18% from historically underrepresented groups and 30% first-generation students.
