Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
Project Engineer
to support the planning and execution of commercial restoration and renovation projects. This role is ideal for candidates with at least 2 years of industry experience who are eager to develop their skills in a fast-paced, hands-on environment. The Project Engineer coordinates documentation, manages logistics, and supports communication between stakeholders to ensure field operations run smoothly. A strong technical foundation, organizational mindset, and interest in building science and restoration are key to success. Key Responsibilities
Assist the Project Manager in developing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and documentation. Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials and equipment. Prepare and manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other project documentation. Support field teams by interpreting drawings and specifications, clarifying scope, and troubleshooting technical issues. Attend and document project meetings, including progress updates, coordination meetings, and client walkthroughs. Maintain project logs and records in Procore or equivalent project management software. Conduct regular site visits to track progress, verify quality, and assist in resolving field issues. Ensure compliance with safety standards by coordinating safety documentation and supporting field audits. Participate in pre-construction activities such as site assessments, phasing plans, and permit preparation. Assist with project closeout, including compiling warranties, O&M manuals, and final documentation. Support restoration-specific planning such as containment setup, environmental remediation sequencing, and system shutdown coordination. Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, consultants, field personnel, and other stakeholders. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. At least 2 years of experience in commercial construction, renovation, or restoration. Familiarity with MEP systems, building codes, and construction sequencing in occupied or partially occupied facilities. Experience with Procore; Microsoft Office proficiency essential. Strong technical reading and writing skills; able to interpret drawings, specs, and technical reports. Demonstrated ability to manage documentation and logistics across multiple concurrent tasks. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; team-oriented and client-focused. Ability to adapt in dynamic environments and respond proactively to challenges. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Willingness to travel locally or regionally to project sites as needed. Ability to work on active construction sites and comply with safety protocols. OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification a plus. Must be able to pass a background check. About Brownstone Construction Group
