A position is available as the Director of the Center for Advanced Microscopy and Imaging. Responsibilities
Provide expertise, training, and research support in transmission and scanning electron microscopy, and wide field, confocal, and other forms of light microscopy to faculty, staff, and students. Teach one course a year on the theory of electron microscopy. Teach one laboratory course a year on transmission and scanning electron microscopy. Perform, diagnose, or coordinate servicing of center instrumentation. Plan and coordinate future instrumentation needs and grant funding with an interdisciplinary group of faculty. Supervise a full-time staff person and manage the center operating budget. Minimum Qualifications
Required: M.S. degree in Natural Sciences, Material Sciences, or a related discipline, five years of experience with light and electron microscopy instrumentation and sample preparation techniques, and a working knowledge of image acquisition and analysis platforms. Consideration will be given to applicants with Ph.D. degree in Natural Sciences, Material Sciences, or a related discipline, and experience with light and electron microscopy instrumentation and sample preparation techniques.
