May float to any Centura Health location within 60 miles of Colorado Springs
Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Colorado or participating NLC state (required)
Associate Degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (required)
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (required)
National Nursing Certification (ANCC approved) strongly preferred
Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience in a cardiac stepdown, IMC, or acute care setting
Ability to float to various healthcare units and facilities as needed
Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities
Assess and address the physical, psychosocial, cultural, and spiritual needs of cardiac stepdown patients
Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
Perform therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, including IVs, wound care, medication administration, catheterization, and specimen collection
Educate patients and families, assess learning needs, and evaluate effectiveness of teaching
Advocate for patient safety, rights, and well-being in a clinical nursing environment
Delegate appropriately to non-RN personnel in accordance with hospital policy and Colorado state regulations
Serve as a professional role model, precepting and mentoring new staff or nursing students as needed
Participate in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and ongoing professional development
Float to various units and Centura Health facilities within the designated float zone as required
