Overview
The Resident Care Director (RCD) serves as the nursing clinical leader for the community and is responsible to lead and manage health and wellness along with coordination of care and services to residents within the community. Responsible for oversight and implementation of all care programs, regulatory compliance, recruiting, and performance management. Responsibilities
Manage Health and Wellness: provide strategic leadership for resident care in the community by directing and monitoring the nursing team as applicable by state/provincial law to promote resident health and wellness. Clinical nursing: provide care through the nursing process; perform and document resident assessments and progress notes, evaluate care needs, complete Individualized Service Plans (ISP), provide or delegate hands-on clinical care as indicated, and evaluate resident outcomes. Care coordination: collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other clinical providers to coordinate care and services for residents. Regulatory leadership: serve as the CLIA Director as applicable and ensure compliance with federal/provincial requirements; lead infection control and regulatory initiatives as applicable. Wellness operations: partner with Neighborhood Coordinators to promote an integrated approach to wellness operations and resident care; collaborate with Sales to assess move-in suitability. Medication management: oversee the medication care managers and the community medication management program to promote safety; provide clinical training and education to staff; perform skill evaluations of care team members. Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance: track, trend, and report clinical quality data; participate in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement committee; lead quality and process-improvement initiatives; recruit, hire, train, and manage clinical team members; ensure staffing aligns with budgets and operational guidelines; ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and risk management practices. Financial Management: manage department budget, monitor expenses, and understand cost impact of resident care programs. Training and Leadership: onboard new RCD leaders, develop regulatory knowledge, supervise staffing, hold team accountable, participate in regular meetings, pursue ongoing professional development, and maintain required trainings. Other duties: perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; current state/provincial RN license. Minimum two (2) years of RN experience with at least one (1) year in home health, assisted living, or long-term care preferred. Minimum one (1) year of nursing management experience (hiring, coaching, performance management, scheduling, and daily operations supervision). CPR and First Aid certification; knowledge of infection control practices and disease prevention. Experience with electronic medical records, Microsoft Office; ability to learn new applications; weekend/evening/flexible hours and 24/7 on-call responsibilities as needed. Strong delegation, multitasking, critical thinking, clinical judgment, and decision-making skills. Base pay range
