Overview
Configuration and Data Management Specialist, Product Lifecycle (ADV000BE5). Join the JETSII team supporting NASA's Engineering Drawing Control Center (EDCC) and the JSC Engineering Design Information Infrastructure (JEDII) — NASA's enterprise Windchill environment. We seek a technical professional with mastery of configuration management practices in structured data environments who can serve as a trusted resource to engineers, project managers, and NASA customers. This role requires command of JEDII/Windchill tools and processes, including baselines, workflows, audits, and discrepancies, while ensuring the integrity of engineering data that enables human spaceflight. We are looking for someone who goes beyond participation in the JEDII system — a JEDII Master who can navigate baselines, workflows, and drawing lifecycles; bridge the gap between engineering teams and data integrity requirements; and proactively strengthen the team’s reputation as trusted stewards of NASA’s technical data. Responsibilities
Execute and enforce configuration management processes within JEDII, ensuring compliance with NASA standards (NPRs, JSC Directives, ASME Y14 series). Control, review, and release engineering drawings, GFE documentation, and as-built facility records across JSC, Ellington Field, and the Sonny Carter Training Facility. Provide day-to-day EDCC support, including drawing research, part data reconciliation, serial/lot tracking, and historical record maintenance. Serve as a JEDII power user: guide, train, and consult with engineers and project staff, ensuring effective use of workflows, versioning, and approvals. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in drawing packages, audits, and documentation deliverables. Maintain configuration status accounting and produce traceability reports in support of program reviews and audits. Develop and refine CM/DM work instructions and best practices for the JETSII team. Collaborate with cross-program stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant data flow. Qualifications
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience. Demonstrated expertise with engineering drawing control, release, and revision management. Working knowledge of NASA Procedural Requirements and configuration standards. Proven ability to perform audits, discrepancy investigations, and data corrections. Strong customer support skills — able to train, mentor, and resolve user issues. Requisition Preferences: 7+ years of direct Configuration or Data Management experience, with at least 3 years supporting NASA's JEDII/Windchill or equivalent enterprise PLM system. Experience in EDCC operations at JSC or equivalent government/prime contractor drawing control environments. Familiarity with ICE, Confluence, SharePoint, or similar collaboration/documentation tools. Background in technical writing for control boards, review packages, or CM/DM documentation. Bachelor's degree in technical field or extensive experience will be considered. Why Join Our Team? Excellent personal and professional career growth 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off), when applicable Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency may be a requirement for this position. Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation. Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised. Essential Functions
