Overview: ELFHCC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant – Behavioral Health to support the delivery of comprehensive behavioral health services. This hybrid role combines clinical and administrative responsibilities to ensure high-quality care and efficient coordination for patients with behavioral health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist behavioral health providers with patient screenings, assessments, and documentation of medical and psychosocial histories.
Prepare examination and treatment rooms; support intake procedures including vital signs and relevant data collection.
Escort patients to exam rooms and facilitate smooth intake processes.
Coordinate appointments, referrals, and follow-ups for patients requiring ongoing behavioral health services.
Medication prior authorizations, referrals, answering BH phone line
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR), ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
Stay current with CPR and basic first aid certifications.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential.
Proficiency in medical terminology and clinical documentation.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work effectively with patients and multidisciplinary teams.
Experience in behavioral health or primary care settings preferred.
