Assistant Director, Career Advancement at University of Chicago. The role supports students with career advising, programs, and resources, and builds partnerships with employers to create internship and job opportunities. Job Summary

The Assistant Director, Career Advancement will provide career advising for undergraduates, plan student career programs, and work with employers to create internship and job opportunities for students. The role includes designing and implementing a series of student career events, overseeing communications and student outcomes data tracking, and producing reports, presentations, and promotional materials. The ideal candidate is adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

Design programming that supports the professional development of students pursuing careers in the sciences. Facilitate cohort-based programs for students across majors and backgrounds. Assist with managing workshops and experiential programs. Counsel and advise students in careers in the sciences using knowledge from recent industry experience. Manage and execute student-employer and student-alumni engagement opportunities. Track student data, quantify engagement, and report on student outcomes. Assist students with resumes/cover letters, interview preparation, graduate school applications, and general career guidance. Develop and maintain relationships with campus partners and registered student organizations (RSOs). Conduct career-related lectures, workshops, events, and one-on-one coaching; direct students to other resources as needed. Analyze market trends related to job searches and collaborate with staff to update offerings. Perform other related work as needed. Qualifications

Education Minimum qualifications include a college or university degree in a related field. Work Experience Minimum 5-7 years of related work experience. Certifications Not specified in the description. Preferred Qualifications

Academic degree(s) in a STEM field. Prior experience in higher education, recruiting, or a STEM-related field. Experience working with college-aged students and/or recent graduates. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with data analysis tools and other relevant technical skills. Strong interpersonal and coaching/counseling skills; ability to communicate with large groups and individuals. Commitment to customer service and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Working Conditions
