Maximus is currently hiring for a Sr. Hearing and Appeals Eligibility Specialist to support our Indiana Eligibility team. This is an onsite position located in Jeffersonville, Indiana. The Sr. Hearing and Appeals Eligibility Specialist is responsible for reviewing and resolving cases involving appeals related to Medicaid, SNAP, or TANF programs. This position involves minimal inbound calls and focuses heavily on case analysis and preparation. The Sr. Hearings and Appeals Eligibility Specialist will be responsible for preparing Comprehensive Evidence Packets for upcoming Hearings and Represent the organization during hearings conducted via conference call with an Administrative Law Judge. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience in eligibility determination or appeals processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Handle specialized cases of significant complexity within the enrollment and eligibility domain.

- Research and address appeals as directed by supervisors, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on - eligibility policies for the team, understanding its impact on related departments.

- Engage closely with management and workgroups to develop and maintain comprehensive work plan documentation.

- Monitor project statuses and deadlines, ensuring timely completion.

- Collaborate with project managers on various initiatives, overseeing progress tracking and providing essential support.

- Aid the training team during the final week of sandboxing, offering guidance, answering queries, and supporting new trainees as they transition into their respective teams.

Minimum Requirements

- High school diploma or GED required and 4+ years of relevant professional experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Associate degree with 2+ years' experience preferred.

- Must possess at least 1 year of experience supporting the Indiana Eligibility project in a Hearings and Appeals role.

- Must be willing and able to work onsite in our Jeffersonville office.
