Position Overview:
The role of Heavy Equipment Operator is to operate heavy machinery on a regular basis for the purpose of snow/dirt removal on roads, parking lots, around buildings and all other areas as required for Powder Mountain to operate in a safe and productive manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate heavy equipment loader, road grader, snow blower, sand salt plow truck, snow cat, snowmobiles and other machinery in accordance with Powder Mountain’s safety standards
Maintain and keep equipment clean and ready for operation
Keep detailed work logs
Clear parking lots, public areas, and Powder Mountain roads of snow and debris.
Mitigate snow damage or snow slides
Aid in removal of distressed vehicles
Ability to work long shifts and back-to-back shift during a snow cycle
Will be working at 9,000ft in inclement weather
Ability to work at night
Ability to be on-call, work nights, weekends, and holidays
Requirements and/or Qualifications:
2+ years heavy equipment operator experience
Basic understanding of all Pre and Post shift equipment checks
If necessary, work hours other than scheduled pertaining to weather conditions
Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions, including extreme cold, snow, wind and rain, on varied snow surfaces
Overall understanding of Powder Mountains policies and procedures
Good work ethic polite to co-workers and follows directions when being asked to undergo a task
Must be dependable and have excellent communication skills
Reliable transportation, preferably 4x4 vehicle
Anticipate and avoid hazards
Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory Driving Record
Physical Requirements- Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to:
Reach, push, pull, lift, and carry objects that may be heavy (50+lbs)
Prolonged periods of sitting, bending, and twisting
Ability to work long shifts through the night.
Vision requirements – close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
Working Environment:
The work environment is subject to frequently entering and exiting vehicles, subject to conditions of weather in a mountain environment at all times of the year. Exposure to moderate to loud volume.
