REQ-26658**Job Description****General Summary:**Vertex Pharmaceuticals is looking to hire an Associate Director (AD) of Training and Development professional to join the North America Commercial Field Training (NACFT) Team on a full-time basis. The AD will report to the Director of Cell & Gene Training and Development to enhance the skill, knowledge, and competencies of our NA Commercial Field teams.
This individual will work closely with leaders of the Hematology and Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) Business Units to plan, design, deliver and pull-through strategic commercial training strategy and programs for our cell and gene therapy Commercial Field teams.**Key Duties and Responsibilities:*** Develop and execute onboarding training programs to ensure that the NA Cell & Gene Commercial Field teams are trained, certified experts in Vertex products, processes, and education* Partner with Business Unit support operations, leadership, marketing, and other cross-functional teams to develop training strategies and recommend solutions* Identify, design, create and facilitate effective content that improves the knowledge, skills, and competencies of our field teams* Lead the processes associated with the Communications Review Committee (CRC), procurement and strategic sourcing, vendor management activities, budget management* Lead the processes associated with strategic sourcing, vendor management activities, budget management* Identify and engage internal or external experts, as appropriate, to deliver topic-specific expertise* Design and deliver thoughtful in-person, virtual and on-demand learning experiences that are reflective of best practices in adult learning principles* Develop metrics and performance measures, reporting and analysis to meet business needs* Support the development of cross-functional Hematology and T1D Commercial training workshops and programs, including product launch, New Hire, POA, and national business meeting* Continuously seek and support new approaches, practices, and processes to improve the efficiency of training services offered* Perform other duties as assigned**Knowledge and Skills:*** Proven communication skills with a well-developed ability to efficiently and productively communicate both verbally and in writing* Ability to influence, collaborate and interact effectively a senior leadership team and multiple key stakeholders across teams to align on objectives and provide consistent training direction* Demonstrated excellence in project management and effectively managing multiple projects/priorities including budgeting and actual spend against budget is required* Proven ability to work within a Learning Management System (LMS)* Ensure that all training programs are consistent with, and supporting of, company legal, regulatory and compliance guidelines* Proven ability to motivate and engage adult learners* Skillful team player able to develop rapport and credibility with key stakeholders* Ability to work independently and on a team; positive, team-focused approach is essential* Experience with and ability to use Microsoft Office and associated tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)* Ability to travel as needed**Education and Experience:*** Bachelor’s Degree required. MBA or relevant Master’s degree preferred* 8+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry* 3+ years commercial training experience in field or training role, experience in rare disease and/or cell & gene therapy preferred* Ability to develop and deliver both traditional and modern training methods (mentoring/coaching programs, virtual training, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning courses, scenario-based application workshops, etc.)**Pay Range:**$157,100 - $235,600**Disclosure Statement:**The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements.
