Responsibilities
Pre-Design Engineering: Perform field surveys for the design of electrical systems, gather information, and prepare site assessment reports. Prepare electrical schematic designs.
Design Engineering: Design power single line and riser diagrams; perform electrical calculations (arc flash, coordination, short circuit, voltage drop, load flow) using ETAP/SKM; design low voltage and medium voltage infrastructure; design for electrical equipment (substation, switchboard, transformer, panelboard) replacement projects; understand and utilize CAD/BIM standards; have a working knowledge of National Electrical Code, Washington Codes and Energy Standards to design electrical systems; coordinate among disciplines and work closely with the design team.
Project Management: Lead projects with a service-first mindset; oversee electrical design for small to medium-sized projects; mentor junior design engineers; assist in proposals for small to medium projects in collaboration with senior engineers; uphold P2S standards for documentation and quality throughout the project lifecycle.
Construction Administration: Provide timely responses to RFIs; review submittals for quality and code compliance; collaborate with contractors and field teams; participate in punch walks and punch list reports; act as a technical advocate for the client during construction.
Qualifications
Technical
– Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering; Registered Professional Engineer license preferred; 5-10 years’ experience preferred; demonstrated ability to lead electrical design projects; project management skills; experience using NEC, AutoCAD, ETAP/SKM, and Revit.
Non-Technical
– Experience mentoring emerging professionals; ability to improve processes and elevate team performance; open to giving and receiving constructive feedback; prioritizes team goals; strong relationship-building; self-motivated, detail-oriented; comfortable solving complex problems in a fast-paced, collaborative environment; strong organizational skills.
