The MS/Tele-Oncology unit at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center is seeking an experienced RN for night shift coverage. This is a fast-paced, high-acuity unit specializing in adult and geriatric oncology patients. The ideal candidate is skilled in telemetry, port access, and chemotherapy management and can manage a 1:6 patient ratio. First-time travelers are accepted

IV Therapy & Infusion: Starting IVs (preferred) Central line care and management PICC line care Port access (preferred) Infusion pump management Blood product administration Administration of antifungals, antivirals, coagulation factors Oncology & Chemotherapy: Chemotherapy administration (IV push, oral, continuous infusion)* Handling cytotoxic spills Monitoring lab values and chemotherapy side effects Managing oncologic emergencies:
Tumor Lysis Syndrome* Sepsis Extravasation injury* Spinal cord compression*
Care of patients with various cancer types:
Breast, Lung, Leukemia, Lymphoma, Myeloma, Brain, etc.
Symptom Management: Neuropathy, nausea/vomiting Altered mental status, mucositis Pain management (PCA, narcotics, transdermals) Telemetry & Monitoring: Telemetry interpretation & monitoring –
Required Professional Nursing Care: Neutropenic precautions Isolation protocols Wound and trach care Colostomy management Foley catheter insertion and care Phlebotomy skills Facility & Unit Details:
