Position Overview:
We are seeking a locum NP or PA to support a well-equipped Emergency Department during a recruitment gap. The provider will work independently within the scope of their practice, with a supervising physician always available for consultation.

- Patient Volume: 20 patients/day
- Number of Beds: 25
- Team Structure: 1 full-time NP, 2 PRN PAs (occasional coverage)
- EMR System: Cerner
- Supervision: Works autonomously; physician available
- Trauma Level: Provisional Level 4
- Admissions from ED: 8%
- Transfer Rate: 2%
- Annual ER Volume: 20,000
- Fast Track: Not available
- Radiology & Lab: 24-hour availability (CT, MRI, X-ray, Pathology, Blood Bank)
- OR Access: 24/7 surgical services including Ortho
- Referral Centers: Bay Med (40 mins), Lansing (1 hr 15 mins)
- Ambulance/Paramedic Supervision: Yes
- EKG Interpretation: Performed by Cardiologists or ED physicians
- Admission Orders: Written by Hospitalist or ED physician
Requirements:
- Board Certified NP or PA Required
- Active Michigan License Required (No IMLC)
- Local Providers Only Required
- Clean Background Required (for expedited credentialing)
- DEA License Required
- Certifications: ACLS, PALS Required
- Immunization Compliance: Must meet health clearance including Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Flu (current season), COVID documentation, TB (within 12 months), Tdap (within 10 years)
Compensation:
- Hourly Rate: Competitive, based on experience
- Holiday & OT Pay: 1.5x base rate
- Orientation Pay: 50% of hourly rate
- Timekeeping: Must clock in/out using DocTime (reverse billing) Timesheets not accepted
Credentialing Timeline: 90 days
