Academic Pediatric Plastic Surgeon
The Division of Plastic Surgery, Department of Surgery at the University of Washington
School of Medicine invites applications for a full-time academic Pediatric Plastic Surgeon at the rank of Assistant Professor WOT (without tenure).
The successful candidate will become a full-time member of the Division of Craniofacial and Plastic Surgery based at Seattle Childrens Hospital (SCH). The primary clinical practice at SCH will focus on general pediatric reconstructive surgery for congenital and acquired soft tissue differences and complex reconstruction, exclusive of craniofacial anomalies. The secondary site of practice will be at Harborview Medical Center, with a focus on adult reconstructive surgery, including facial trauma care. Collaboration with orthopedic surgery, spine surgery, general surgery, and urology will be a central practice component at both sites; the successful candidate is expected to develop microsurgical expertise. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service. At the rank of Assistant Professor WOT, the base salary range for this position will be $30,834-$34,167 per month ($370,008 - $410,004 annually). Base salary will be commensurate with candidate experience and qualifications. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Other compensation associated with this position may include variable incentive through CUMG. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Appointments as Assistant Professor WOT are normally structured per University guidelines as two consecutive 3-year terms followed by review for promotion to Associate Professor WOT. Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1
June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This full-time position will include clinical activities at Seattle Childrens Hospital, University of Washington Northwest Hospital and University of Washington Harborview Medical Center. Salary and rank will be commensurate with training, qualifications, and experience, with an expected start date of July 1, 2026.
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
MD (or foreign equivalent) Board-certified or eligible to achieve certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (or foreign equivalent) Eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington Prospective candidate will have successfully completed a relevant subspecialty plastic surgery fellowship or have at least two years of equivalent experience
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
