Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related degree Experience working on consumer hardware projects or in a hyperscale data center environment, and experience in bring-up, debugging, and testing of designed PCBs Proficiency in a professional-grade CAD tool: Hierarchical schematics, design rule setup, script utilization, version control systems for collaborative design management. Understanding of Design for Manufacturability and Design for Testability principles and awareness of how design choices impact the actual production and testing of the board. As a Hardware Engineer in the board and system design team, you will work on hardware systems projects to craft solutions for current and future data center deployments. You will work with product teams to ensure that customer goals are met with our systems and cross-functional design teams (e.g., Mechanical, Thermal, Power, Signal Integrity etc.) to design the desired product. You will also work with ASIC/FPGA, software, and verification teams to ensure proper verification of features in our systems, manufacturing teams to ensure that our designs are manufacturable and ready for volume production, and field teams to support systems that are deployed in the data center. The ML, Systems, & Cloud AI (MSCA) organization at Google designs, implements, and manages the hardware, software, machine learning, and systems infrastructure for all Google services (Search, YouTube, etc.) and Google Cloud. Our end users are Googlers, Cloud customers and the billions of people who use Google services around the world. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $105,000-$151,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Lead the hardware design on a system or sub-system of a data center hardware product. Bring up systems and execute engineering validation in the lab. Gather requirements, define high level architecture, and execute hardware design and product validation. Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, product, and deployment teams to productize designs and field support. Drive product from concept to production.
