We are currently looking for a Sr. Land Representative for our Houston,TX office.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Sr. Land Representative, under the direction of the Manager of Land, provides Boardwalk Pipelines and subsidiaries with a level of land expertise that requires knowledge of land-related techniques, procedures, and practices. This position is accountable for the interpretation, negotiation, acquisition, and enforcement of the company's land rights and strives to maintain the integrity of these rights. This position may act as a mentor to less experienced land personnel and will assist the Manager of Land in land-related matters as directed. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to supporting the development and execution of Capital Expansion (CapEx) projects by estimating project land costs, obtaining all required land rights, permitting, and encroachments to facilitate timely construction along with the settlement of damages and assisting the project team as necessary to ensure overall project success. This position further provides technical expertise, advice, and solutions to a wide variety of land matters for internal departments such as Commercial, Project Development, Regulatory, Outreach, Engineering, Environmental, Legal, Operations, Pipeline Safety, and Construction along with outside customers such as oil and gas producers, developers, and land service contractors.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
6-10 years of related land experience in the midstream/transmission sector and the execution of pipeline or linear infrastructure projects. Familiar with the FERC and other regulatory processes as it relates to the acquisition of land rights and execution of projects. Experienced in the negotiation and acquisition of pipeline right of way related agreements, such as easements/servitudes, leases, temporary workspace, and fee purchases. Knowledgeable of necessary permitting/encroachments along with general pipeline construction methodology. Must be able to analyze and interpret engineering drawings and legal descriptions, title research, and appraisals. Excellent organization, communication, and time management skills. Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision and perseverance to accomplish objectives. Experienced in the preparation and interpretation of land agreements. Willingness to function as a team player within a collaborative environment. Excellent interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders. Proficient skills in computer systems such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and virtual communication platforms. Valid Driver's License and clean driving record. Able to travel up to 25% of the time PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
10+ years of related land experience in the midstream/transmission sector and the execution of pipeline or linear infrastructure projects. Experience with condemnation/expropriation processes. Familiarity with Land database systems and researching of land rights. REQUIRED EDUCATION:
