Lead Food Runner & Expediter

ensures the efficient, accurate, and timely delivery of food from the kitchen to guests, while maintaining the highest standards of presentation, quality, and service. This role acts as the key liaison between the kitchen and front-of-house teams, coordinating orders, prioritizing service flow, and mentoring other food runners to ensure a seamless guest experience.

Responsibilities

Order Management & Communication

Act as the central point of communication between kitchen staff and servers. Organize and prioritize tickets to maintain optimal service flow during peak periods. Double-check each plate for accuracy, presentation, and temperature before leaving the kitchen. Service Execution

Personally run and deliver food to tables during high-volume service. Direct other runners to assigned tables to ensure timely delivery. Assist with special requests, dietary modifications, and guest needs. Leadership & Training

Train and mentor new food runners on menu knowledge, table etiquette, and service standards. Monitor team performance and provide feedback to improve efficiency and accuracy. Lead pre-service briefings to communicate daily specials, menu changes, and service priorities. Quality Control & Organization

Maintain a clean and organized expo line, ensuring all necessary tools and garnishes are stocked. Report any delays, shortages, or quality concerns to the chef or manager immediately. Uphold proper handling of hot plates, allergen protocols, and sanitation procedures. Requirements

Previous experience as a food runner, expediter, or in a similar high-volume hospitality role. Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure. In-depth knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and plating standards. Ability to lead by example, motivate others, and maintain a positive team atmosphere. Physical stamina to stand, walk, and carry multiple plates for extended periods. Working Environment

Fast-paced, high-volume restaurant or club environment. Requires nights, weekends, and holiday availability. Standing and walking for extended periods; lifting up to 30 lbs.

Full Time/Part Time Opportunities

Mid and Evening Shifts, Wednesday-Sunday Availability

Pay:

$17.00 per hour - $19.00 per hour
