As an Entry-Level Nurse, you will provide compassionate direct nursing care in a dynamic environment, supporting patients who require thorough assessments and interventions in line with established protocols.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure high-quality, safe care for patients by promptly responding to calls for help, taking vital signs, and monitoring patient behavior and conditions.
- Enhance patient experiences by assisting them with daily living activities such as bathing, feeding, and personal hygiene.
- Participate in necessary medical procedures, including dressing changes, catheter care, and collecting biological specimens.
- Foster a supportive environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients.
- Maintain accurate patient records and communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Engage actively as a team member in departmental initiatives and meetings.
- Notify licensed nurses of any changes in patient conditions or needs.
- Assist in preparing patients for discharge and accompany them as needed.
- Ensure adequate stock of supplies and equipment to meet patient care needs efficiently.
- Orient new patients and their families to the nursing unit.
- Remain vigilant and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
Education:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Must be a new graduate nurse (RN) in Wisconsin or eligible.
Experience:
- No prior experience required.
Physical Requirements:
- Constant standing and walking.
- Frequent communication and the ability to discern body sounds and alarms.
- Ability to lift, carry, and push/pull objects weighing 0-25 lbs regularly; 25-50 lbs occasionally.
- Frequent use of vision for various distances and color identification.
- Additional physical requirements include bending, stooping, and the occasional moving of patients.
Required Certifications:
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association.
