Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as an Appointment Coordinator specializing in bariatric surgery. This role is vital in supporting the Bariatric Service Line by efficiently scheduling endoscopy and surgical procedures, managing communications, and preparing patient charges.

Key Responsibilities: - Schedule surgical and endoscopy procedures with precision, ensuring all details such as date, time, surgeon, anesthesia, and pre-operative interviews are accurate. - Provide clear and courteous scheduling instructions to physician office staff. - Optimize the surgical schedule by balancing case volume and assigning procedures to appropriate operating rooms. - Demonstrate professionalism by meeting commitments, working independently, adapting to change, and maintaining focus under pressure. - Manage incoming communications by screening and directing calls appropriately. - Continuously seek process improvements with attention to detail and accuracy. - Obtain necessary pre-authorizations, eligibility, and benefits information for scheduled procedures and communicate with relevant departments. - Enter orders accurately into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system as directed. - Support clinic operations by assisting with patient intake and educating patients on pre-operative requirements including lab work and imaging. - Collaborate with the Bariatric Coordinator and team on additional duties as needed.

Education: High school diploma required. Completion of an accredited surgical technologist, practical nursing, or medical assistant program is highly preferred.

Experience: At least one year of appointment scheduling experience, preferably in a medical environment.

Certifications/Licenses: Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), Certified First Assistant (CFA), or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credentials in good standing if applicable. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.

Mental/Physical Requirements: Must be organized, detail-oriented, flexible, and able to multitask effectively within a team. Requires sustained mental and visual focus. Approximately 85% of the work is sedentary, with occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs.
