Schedule & Requirements:
- Shifts: 3x12-Hour Shifts
- Shift Type: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Schedule Details: Every Other Weekend (EOW), Holiday rotation required. Must be available to work through the holiday season.
- On-Call: 2 on-call shifts per 4-week schedule period.
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic Float Pool team. This is a critical role that provides essential support across multiple units, requiring a clinician with a strong foundation in medical/surgical, critical care, and emergency nursing. The ideal candidate is a resilient team player who thrives in a fast-paced, variable environment and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care wherever the need arises.
Responsibilities
- Provide competent, compassionate nursing care to patients across multiple units, including Med/Surg, ICU, and ER.
- Rapidly adapt to different unit protocols, environments, and team dynamics.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement prescribed treatments.
- Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and operate specialized medical equipment specific to each unit.
- Respond effectively to rapid responses and code situations.
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records.
- Fulfill scheduled on-call obligations as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
Mandatory:
- Licensure: Active New York RN License.
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Required.
- Experience: Significant and recent Critical Care experience.
- Float Requirement:MUST be able and willing to float to all designated units.
- Cross-Training: Must be cross-trained or willing to be cross-trained for multi-unit competency (Med/Surg, ICU, ER).
Certifications (All Required):
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or RQI only.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or RQI only.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or RQI only.
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
