By offering cutting-edge treatments, innovative research, and a patient-centered approach, we are redefining what’s possible in the fight against cancer and blood disorders.If you want to be part of a growing organization committed to **healing, hope, and advanced care**, join us and help make a meaningful impact!**Job Description:******Overnight Histology Technologist********Port Jefferson, NY********Hours:** **Mon-Fri 9pm-5:30am********In this role, you will:***** **Under general supervision and according to policies and procedures, performs routine and non-routine activities involved in the preparation of slides, for microscopic evaluation by a pathologist(s).*** **Capable of performing all of the duties/responsibilities of a Histotechnician.*** **Ensure proper accessioning and labeling of all tissue samples.*** **Process paperwork associated with accessioning and reporting.*** **Ensure proper tissue processing, embedding, and microtomy.*** **Perform coverslipping of stained slides either manually or automated.*** **Performs recuts requested by a Pathologist.*** **Prepare solutions and reagents for stain procedures.*** **Perform stains procedures.*** **Well experienced in IHC instrumentation and stains.*** **Perform filing of finished blocks and slides.*** **Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment and troubleshooting minor equipment failures.
